There is a variety of school camps offered at Mercy Regional College:

Camps - year levels

Year 7 camp is a 2 night trip to Cape Bridgewater - near Portland in February. Activities include: sand boarding, surfing, caving, waterslides, Great Otway Walk.  This camp is held in the first few weeks of term one, and is a great introductory to Mercy school life for our Year 7's

Year 8 camp is a 2 night survival type trip to Princetown in South West Victoria.  With this camp, students have to bring everything from tents, to their own food supplies. Activities on this camp include canoeing, obstacle courses, beach activities and trekking. This camp teaches the students forward planning, independence and resilience.

Year 9 camp is a two night trip to Melbourne where the students do activities ranging from a tour of the Shrine of Remembrance, film making at the Arts Centre, Street Arts tour, Bounce, Etihad Stadium tour, Melbourne Star, ice-skating at Icehouse, Victoria Market, and free time in the CBD.

Year 11 camp is also to Melbourne for 2 nights, but is very different to Year 9. The students get to experience parts of the city that they usually wouldn't see. They also compete in an amazing race quest around Melbourne, which takes them to Luna Park, the Alfred Hospital, St Kilda Beach and Fitzroy. The students also participate in guided tours, power point displays, speeches and activities at RMIT and ACU.

Optional Camps:

Central Australia - is held every second year, and is offered to students in years 9 and 10. This camping trip is for 10 days in September. Students travel by bus and visit Coober Pedy, Kings Canyon, Uluru, and Alice Springs.

France and Belgium Battlefields Tour - is also held on every second year to the Central Australia Camp in September. This trip is offered to students from Year 9 to 12. The group sees the sights of Paris, then the battlefields of France and Belgium from the Great War of 1914-18. This tour is a wonderful opportunity for our students to walk in the footsteps of the generations that came before us.  The tour finishes in London for a few days, before heading home to Australia.

Kimberley Trip - is for 10 days in October, and is offered to students in Year 8. Students interact with the Katherine, and Halls Creek students, and hear their stories. This trip will widen the students horizons, push their comfort zones, new friendships to be formed, and to see many parts of Australia they have never seen before.

Cambodia Immersion Trip - is a 10 day trip to Cambodia, and is offered to students in Years 10 and 11. Students are immersed into the culture of Cambodia, and travel to the areas of Siem Reap and the Metta Karuna Retreat Centre ( a Jesuit Retreat Centre). Highlights of the trip are: Angkor Wat temples, Ta Prom, learning of the history of Cambodia - Khmer Rouge/ Pol Pot Regime, and  teaching English in local schools.
